Lonnie King

Bio: Lonnie King is a veteran play-by-play broadcaster and freelance writer with over 20 years of experience covering Houston-area sports. He served as the voice of Houston Baptist University (now Houston Christian University) football and basketball for a decade and currently works with Learfield Sports, providing play-by-play for University of Houston and Rice University athletics, including women’s basketball and baseball. His broadcast credits include work with ESPN+, Legacy Sports Network, FloSports, Fox Sports Southwest, and UIL state tournament radio broadcasts. Lonnie has also written extensively about local sports and travel, and previously covered the Sugar Land Skeeters during their early years. A Journalism/Mass Communication graduate of the University of Arizona Global Campus, Lonnie brings a versatile background in radio, writing, and live sports production. He is based in the Houston area and available for play-by-play, hosting, and content creation opportunities.
